A Look Behind the Camera

Is it possible to have a good heartache…. I think yes.

You know when you want something really bad, that it consumes your whole mind and your heart aches just thinking about it? That’s me right now. The topic of my longing is Alaska. I just came back from my third mission trip there and each time, it gets harder to leave. I know that I could live there, even during the harsh winters. I feel like there is a tugging on my heart even now as I write about the topic. Yes, I know that it would be secluded from everything and just about everyone I’ve ever known, but I feel that I belong there.
I am praying that God will bring to me the joy of purchasing a one-way ticket sometime soon. (if it is His plan)

This is the day the Lord has made!

Luggage: check
CameraS: double check
Computer: triple check
Wesley and Joel: infinity check

We’re off to Alaska as I write. First leg of the trip: Troy to Atlanta. I’m so pumped even though I got little sleep last night. Pray for us!

Is it possible to be this anxious yet this content?

In just a little less than 72 hours, I will be leaving for Alaska for the third time. I have so many emotions going through me right now, but two that are sticking out more are anxiousness and contentment. Is it possible to feel these two emotions at the same time? I’m anxious that I’m going back, yet I’m content that God is bringing me back “home.” Yes, Alaska is my “home.” The first time I set foot in the Last Frontier, I was astounded at the amazing landscape and how grand it was. I thought how could a God so Awesome create these enormous mountains that have several different climates on them and still spend so much time to create all the details of a tiny human person. Upon leaving, I left a piece of my heart there and year-after-year, I always find a way to return.

As the hours count down, I keep praying that God will prepare the way for us. He has already brought us a long way. We raised all our money. Another member and I have recently gotten over spring-time colds just in time. God has already done great things, and I know more great things are to come.

If you would like to have a daily update of pics and videos, please visit the webpage we have created…… http://alaskabound.weebly.com/index.html

I will attempt to write a daily update on here as well.

Please continue to pray for us and stay tuned for more.

Alaska Mission Trip

In just a few short months, I will be going to Alaska…..again. The first time I went, I left a part of my heart there and every time I go back, I leave a little bit more. But in return, I gain so much. I gain understanding of a powerful and loving God.

During this upcoming trip, I will be assisting with the works of what goes on at the finish line (in Nome, Alaska) of the famous Iditarod Sleddog Race. There will be so many opportunities to meet the locals and to also connect with others from around the world who are there with the same calling.

While God has opened up a door for me to develop a greater heart of compassion for His people around the world, the exciting part is that you will be able to share in this compassion in several ways. First, you can help pray for me and my fellow students. We will need prayers that God will prepare us for our visit and bless our efforts as we minister to the people of Alaska. We will also need prayers that our financial needs will be met. At this time we need to raise $1,700 each to attend this trip, and that is quite a challenge!

Another way you can be involved is to help provide that financial support. Would you consider supporting me with a small donation? Below is a link to a Paypal form where you can submit a dollar amount you wish to donate. (Accepts several forms of payment, Paypal, Mastercard, Discover, Visa, Bank Draft, etc.)

Whether you feel led to contribute financially, through prayer, or both, all of your support is appreciated.

Thanks again for any form of support you give.

Love, Heather

Internet official

I’m finally internet official!

www.heatherallemanphotography.com

I’ve had a personal website for a while now but it’s been hosted through someone else. This one I get to host personally with my own server space (a lot of techno-babble, i know). The site is still under some construction, but by next week it will be complete.

I only bought the server space for three months, but after putting so much effort into it, I may renew and keep it.

Anyways, let me know what you think of it. :)

All because two people fell in love…. <3

A little over a week ago, I had the privilege of photographing a couple who are friends of mine who are expecting their first child. I know that both of these wonderful people are going to be excellent parents and they are going to rear their daughter to be the best God-fearing and God-loving princess of the King there is.

Here are some images from the shoot.

Another day of Cabbie-killing.

First off, I did not actually kill a cab driver. It is a running joke that October 11 is Cabbie-killing day. Anyways….

Today was amazing. Thank you all for the well-wishes of a great day. It truely was. And as my birthday is now ended, I sit back and think about all the things I am thankful for in the 24 years I have been graced with. God has placed certain people in my life that are very dear to my heart and I know that I will never lose touch with them. God has also graced me with a loving family that is there for me through thick and thin. Most days, I forget to count my blessings and I take for granted all that I do have. But there are days when I just sit in the silence of my home and thank the almighty Father for what I do have.

Again, thank you all for the birthday wishes. It really made my day to hear each and every birthday wish.

Have a great day! Much love!

GIVEAWAY :)
Hey guys, so here’s that giveaway I was saying I’d do. Basically I’m a compulsive shopper, so I have a ton of Harry Potter shit that I really don’t need/want/have room for. I have two necklaces, a pin I bought at LeakyCon 2011, and several pieces of filmstrip that my friend took from the cinema where he works ;) The filmstrip looks cool if you tack it against a window so the light shines through. Love all these things, but I never use any of them. So the prizes are:
Prize #1: a Golden Snitch locket [featured in the first two pictures] and five cuts of filmstrip from the Deathly Hallows Part 1 trailer [bottom picture].
Prize #2: a flying key necklace [fourth picture] and the “I Heart Neville” pin [third picture].

Rules:
Reblog this post up to five times [that’s five entries] in its entirety, but no more than once per day. I’ll probably check, because I have no life (I just don’t want you to spam people’s dashes…yep). To make sure I don’t get confused, likes do not count as entries.
I don’t really care if you follow me or not tbh.
Contact me via ask box if you’d like to know how to get an extra entry. Heh.
Make sure either your ask box or submit button is enabled so that I have a way to contact you if you win!

I’ll pretty much ship anywhere. If you think you live somewhere really kooky feel free to ask me if I’ll ship there but the answer is probably yes.
I’ll put all your usernames in a spreadsheet to keep track of how many entries you have. Then I’ll use random.org to pick two winners.
Whoever’s username comes up first will have first pick of which prize they want and will have 48 hours to respond. After they respond I will contact the second winner. If you guys have any questions about the items or stuff like that, just ask.
GOOD LUCK :D
[edit: Forgot to say when the contest ends! I’ll be picking winners on September 3rd.]

QUIDDITCH T-SHIRT GIVEAWAY!

So me and my friend thought it would be awesome to have our own personalised quidditch tops, so we made them and as they turned out really well, we thought we may as well sell them! So if you win, you can choose the house, number and name for the t-shirt.

You have to reblog not like, and you can reblog only once. You don’t have to be following me. It’ll close on 20th August 7:00pm GMT, and then I’ll use a random number generator to randomly select a winner.

Feel free to have a look at our etsy shop ‘AccioApparel where you can order a t-shirt, and other items such as bracelets will be appearing soon :)

Watched this movie today. I had never heard of it and had seen a friend reblog about it. She had posted it was on Netflix so I spent the afternoon watching it. It was cute, typical romance movie. However it doesn’t end the way you think it’s going to. Here’s a synopsis I got from IMDb.
“When implanted in a person’s wrist, a TiMER counts down to the day the wearer finds true love. But Oona O’Leary faces the rare dilemma of a blank TiMER. Her soul mate - whoever and wherever he is - has yet to have a TiMER implanted. Staring down the barrel of thirty and tired of waiting for her would-be life partner to get off the dime, Oona breaks her own rules and falls for Mikey, a charming and inappropriately young supermarket clerk with a countdown of four months.”

I would suggest checking it out. Now I pose this question to everyone…..Would you get one and trust that technology knows your “ONE” or would have faith in God to bring that person He has for you into your life that the exact moment they need to be?

So we had a field trip to a print shop today. It was also Stephanie Davenports birthday…and apparently she wanted to shove a cupcake in my face…so they did…Except Vanessa was the main one. So naturally…I let them get their pictures…ask Vanessa super nicely to wipe it off, and she was so taken aback. She apologized tons of times and offered to clean my face with her hair and hands. It was so nice of her to offer her lovely blonde hair. My face was clean within seconds! It was a good bus drive back. Mrs. Leach couldnt figure out the box game.
Whats up?! Whats up?!

:D So LISTEN, this was the best field trip ever!!!!
